Alu-Trak Aluminium Traction Boards are similar to other traction boards available on the market like MaxTrax, TREDS, etc. They are used in a similar way to other recovery boards. Unlike other recovery boards, our Alu-Trak Traction Boards are designed to be used in multiple different ways, giving you more flexibility when you have to recover your 4WD vehicle in just about any terrain.
Regular plastic recovery boards are a fixed length and cannot bend, making them useless in anything other than relatively flat terrain like sand or mud. The Alu-Trak Traction Boards are a modular system made up from modules of extruded aluminium plates. This forms a recovery board that will provide your tyres with grip as well as ensuring the plates bite into the terrain to prevent movement. Spinning your wheels on most recovery boards will destroy the traction teeth on top of the board and possibly melt the plastic surface as well. When this happens you can only replace the now-useless board by buying another pair. We can supply replacement Alu-TrakTraction Board modules, just contact us with what parts you need.
The connection system between each plate allows you to create four traction boards approximately the same length as the plastic recovery boards currently available. The difference here is that should you only need traction on one side of the vehicle, all Alu-Trak Traction Board modules can be connected together to form one long recovery board! If necessary, Alu-Trak Traction Boards can also be stacked vertically, each module locking with the one below for stability.
In addition to allowing each module to connect, the connection system between each is also reasonably flexible. This allows the recovery board to follow the ground contours in all but the most difficult terrain. Being made of aluminium extrusions, Alu-Trak Traction Boards are strong enough to take even the most difficult conditions with minimal damage.
Our standard Alu-Trak Traction Board kit comes with sixteen separate modules in a canvas carry bag. The bag is large enough to include more Alu-Trak Traction Board modules if you decide you require more.
